On my tri colour KT which was the second of the 2 builds I ordered some spare metal KT track links from Mato and fabricated the hangers myself. It does involve sanding down the turret where Tamiya has the protrusions to glue the plastic ones in place (which now that you have already painted your tank you probably won't want to do but if you ever repaint it something to keep in mind) and also grinding or sanding with coarse emery paper the back of the Mato track pieces to get them to fit flush but the difference is night and day and you can go with say just one link hanging rather than all of them being 2 link. The rest of it just weathering them to your taste. Remember that German tracks did not rust because of their manganese content (most certainly not in their combat lives). They certainly collected dust and mud though. But you have got your first tank built. Run it and enjoy it for now and in the meantime you can read through this forum and see some incredible jobs of weathering and how it was done and then move on to doing your tank. I'm surprised Rad has had problems with his Henntec. All the Henntecs I have work flawlessly for their purpose

Good point. I also hanged tracks, but spare tamiya tracks that a friend gave me. I had no idea about the manganese thing, makes sense!

At worst the rust on tracks went as far as looking like railway line track that is untouched by the train wheels, kind of brown but not rusty as such.
The contents of the earth, minerals salts etc has an effect on the tracks appearance but only to the same degree as the railway line effect.
I’ve seen real German tanks that have been outdoors since the war whose tracks are still only as oxidised as train track , perhaps slightly more but certainly not orange.

Thanks for the kind words about the tank. It looks OK, but not entirely happy with its reialiability, so I dont use it too much.. I installed the Henntec tensioner years ago, and I cannot remember if I had to drill something. If I am not mistaken I vaguely remember enlarging some holes I already had.

From all the toys that you can see in my website, the one I use the most is the Sherman: https://radindustries.wordpress.com/201 ... erman-105/ followed by the Panzer IV: https://radindustries.wordpress.com/202 ... r-iv-zorn/
How did you get the smoke generator to work, did you get a different board? Interested in it tbh

It is appreciated. I understand how the mods and guys who have posted for years here get pissed with people who show up with a problem and get all sorts of help and disappear without even a thank you. TBH I lurked for a couple of years and absorbed. I didn't join until I thought I might be able to contribute. I and the others who have helped on this thread I can say have enjoyed helping you. So when do you buy your next tank? :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

to answer your question about the "Hentec" system it is necessary to start by enlarging the existing holes in the chassis, then you must make 2 small holes, for each side, (fixing screws) personally that's what I I did, and no operating problems, just when enlarging the holes? be careful to stay centered in relation to each other

Well if someone like you who produced the M32ARV is still gleaning I guess I'll still be gleaning 3 or 4 lifetimes later ;D ;D
