Sometimes I am not the smartest, thank you. Works more smoothly now, feel like it’s perfect nowRad_Schuhart wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 7:22 pmSir, with all due respect, those wheels are wrongly assembled and your tank will not work good until you fix them. Remove the wheels, unscrew them and fit the metal parts correctly. Otherwise you will have the issueMichael151722 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 7:05 pm
Another picture of the side it shows track teeth between the two sides of the wheels
It must look like here,And not like you assembled it. if the metal parts touch each other, is wrong.
But worry not, is an easy fix. In 15 minutes it should be done

If the tank is stock (no tension adjustment) or if the slack adjustment is one screw for both sides then yes the track slack may look different for each side. If your adjuster has an adjustment for each side then the tracks could be made to look the same from side to side. I primarily do the Sherman chassis stuff where the tracks are run pretty tight.Michael151722 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 4:35 am Thank you for your answer mate appreciate it, one more question tho I noticed that my tracks are not totally even on both sides is that normal, I know the tracks are the same number of tracks but I think it’s just the tension system where one might be more tight compared to the other, I saw on Rads picture his tracks were also a little bit uneven where one seem to be but further? Is that just comes with the idler tension adjustment?

Tracks cannot be 100% even because the wheels are not paralel due to the torsion bar suspension.

Re: 1/16 Tamiya King Tiger Road Wheels won’t spin

Hello, in principle it should drive straight? is the Tamiya electronics on it?, there are the same number of links? the tracks are identical in direction? in principle tank resting on a support, the upper part touches the rollers, and the lower part must hang a little below freely. Can trust Rad's photos.
On the other hand, advice to make a support (thick wood) width of the chassis, so that when resting the tracks do not touch the ground, or when storing on a shelf? the suspension doesn't like that, you can also, once the tank is on its support, so the tracks are free, measure the distance, be careful

It is a stock Tamiya if that’s what you mean, planning on upgrading to the henntec tensioner system and for now will leave my tank and call it a day, really happy with my build tbhEcam wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 8:10 amIf the tank is stock (no tension adjustment) or if the slack adjustment is one screw for both sides then yes the track slack may look different for each side. Thank you this makes perfect sense, and again thank you for fixing my wheel problem it was quite an easy fix tbh, used a cardboard box to have one side of the tracks inside and propped up the other side like a jack to do my changes! What do you think of my build?Rad_Schuhart wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:07 am Tracks cannot be 100% even because the wheels are not paralel due to the torsion bar suspension.

Morning mate, I believe the tracks are correct numbers both sides for sure, maybe it has to do with what ECAM said many variables for now I will just leave it at that. But that is good advise to relive the suspension stress will look to do that soon as will go into display soon, again Thank youJofaur86 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:53 am![]()

It looks fine to me. Maybe too late now, but for future builds I'd stencill some numbers https://radindustries.wordpress.com/201 ... /stencils/ and I also would paint the turret tracks.Michael151722 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 1:49 pmThank you this makes perfect sense, and again thank you for fixing my wheel problem it was quite an easy fix tbh, used a cardboard box to have one side of the tracks inside and propped up the other side like a jack to do my changes! I have seen that you are planning to fit a henntec track tensioner. I have one fitted on the tri-camo king tiger and I had nothing but frustration with it. I have still to try with different screws as Tom suggested me.
Anyway, what is the most important thing is you are happy with your toys, that is all what it counts. I never follow any historical rule. Heck, I even ended inventing my own "What if 1951 world" so, go and figure.

Thank you mate! And turret tracks you mean the spare tracks on the turret, I did paint them black they came as like plastic colour but I have missed a spot or two tho, stencil is a good idea. But I have stumbled upon your build a while back and marveled at the work now I know who put it together it’s a master piece mate love it. Btw hentec tensioner does that need holes to be drilled in? And thank you for the wheels had fun fixing them and looking at them now.

Yes, I mean the spare tracks. Give some dry brushing with another colour, like grey, or dark metal, or even rust. It will look much better and will take you seconds.
Thanks for the kind words about the tank. It looks OK, but not entirely happy with its reialiability, so I dont use it too much.. I installed the Henntec tensioner years ago, and I cannot remember if I had to drill something. If I am not mistaken I vaguely remember enlarging some holes I already had.
From all the toys that you can see in my website, the one I use the most is the Sherman: https://radindustries.wordpress.com/201 ... erman-105/ followed by the Panzer IV: https://radindustries.wordpress.com/202 ... r-iv-zorn/
