Looking great so far.

Re: A LEAP OF FAITH
Now the fundamental parts of the hull are done, it’s onto the turret.
This damn thing is a royal, weapons-grade pain in the clacker
No locating points, no separation lines that are designed with maintenance and ease of entry in mind.
I’m going to have to make the lower and front plate fixed with the gun and its functional bits on it, and the upper turret just a covering cap.
I’ll get the bastard, but it’s testing my patience and will .
The rotation ring is also a bit of wing it & see.
An old HL gear that is secured by styrene sheet & screws to the Trumpeter turret ring which is glued to the lower turret plate.
It’ll work fine. Sanding a bit of the turret slew ring out to make it looser was a must.

You're doing a fantastic job.
Yeah the Trumpeter is 100 times better in term of details than the Tamiya PIV.

Plus the Tamiya is the J. The least interesting of the PZ!V family. Maybe the most produced but the crews thought they were

Re: A LEAP OF FAITH
For fear of repeating myself the best of the Panzer 4s was the AusF H and I have yet to see anyone making and selling it,
There is at least one conversion kit on sale allowing for the build of an AusF D.
As to the AusF J the Staff Sergeant is correct in his statement. So we have the choice of the AusF G (Wrongly marketed as an AusF F2) or the AusF J,
I consider we are being shortchanged when you consider there were 9 AusF from A to J (no AusF I).

Re: A LEAP OF FAITH
For me I wouldn’t miss any of them !!
A solid hatch/L48 with Schurzen is a version I dislike the least of the IVs but as long as I’m
Doing this one I will put my appreciation of the venerable Pz4 aside and try to do the best I can on it.
He evee ed n wants the awful ball-brake on it !
Ahh well, at least it will be better than a poorly converted H/L
