heng long new ' light ' tank ?

Post by mcevoyi »

hi all

i caught a thread on a different site that Hl are going to produce a new 'light' tank ! .. any one else caught that info ?

i am woundering what it may be ? .. two ideas spring to mind .. thinking about the way hl re use chassis .

the m5 stuart ( sherman parts ) ... and the m24 chaffee .. m26 / buldog parts ....

theres also been some chat about a wheeled armourd car .. maybe a puma / or an m8 grayhound ...

any one got any ideas ?

The intel I got from Torpedochief on RCU was that they were mulling the Pzkpf 38(t).
Like you I instantly saw possibilities for parts reuse in the marder III ausf h and n, as well as the Hertzer :D

What parts did the Stuart and Sherman share? For that matter what did the Chaffee, Bulldog and Pershing share?

I think heng long have proved that you can reuse plenty of parts >>

So long as you ignore such minor considerations as scale, authenticity, etc... :haha:

if they tool up for a smaller turret ring, then the early british and american stuff comes within reach - maybe thats why the smaller gearboxes are now in production

I wonder how they'll fit all the gubbins in a 38t, the PzIII is a squeeze.

A 38t hull would be great but tiny. I've always wanted a little r/c Hertzer.
