Re: 1/24 Pz.754(p) captured Soviet KVII tank - connecting drive motor connectors to receiver

Using the factory gearbox wiring\connectors, L\R motors plugged in to receiver. At this point does not matter if they are in the right slot or not. That will be tested later after 2s lipo input JST, power on switch wiring are completed.

If you buy replacement HL 1/24 gearbox, they come prewired and are set up for PNP for the HL Rx-24 receiver :D

Next I will be adding a Lipo input JST connector and wire it to the receiver.

After this step, tank will be ready to fire up

I decided to put the tank in operation even though it still needs some work (main gun up\down, gun recoil, IR transmitter, receiver) are not finished at this point. Need to find a few parts yet. Just bid on a bunch of VsTanks parts here

Put the tank together and a short video of it running here.

Well I won the bid for the parts on ebay. $233 worth. $60 of that is shipping. Should have enough parts to ad main gun up\down plus recoil. Plus more parts for other projects. Several gearboxes for turret L\R and turret main gun U\D. Plus recoil gearbox's. IR LEDS and more.

No money left to buy those pretty panties at that site :O

Got the main gun recoil working as a stand alone using 1 SPDT relay. This will make it easy to interface to any electronics. I did this this way as I want to update 2 other 1/24 tanks in my collection with main gun recoil oh, and muzzle flash which is next.

For this upgrade, 4 wires are used with a SPDT relay with SPST switch, 2 for the recoil motor\GB, 2 for the recoil position limit switch.

Here is a shot video showing the main gun recoil relay.

Here is a video of the muzzle flash unit

Next thing to do is get the main gun up\down GB installed .

Vs Tanks are notorious for low travel of the main gun movement up\down due to the design of the gearbox actuator. It's like a servo with a very short throw. The answer is a articulated swivel mount arm and a extended servo horn. This mod adds greater deflection in both up\and movements as seen in the video below.
