Hi guys
Picked up a WSN T-34 at a boot sale for £2, sadly the transmitter is missing, how do I go about fitting Henglong electronics into it??
Many thanks
Heng long into WSN T34
Re: Heng long into WSN T34
The wiring in the t34 is different to heng long so need to switch things around a bit to get it working. So to fit the rx18 you need rx18, receiver board and spare wiring loom to do all the wiring switching around. As the t34 has slightly smaller wiring plugs to its board.
If your confident with electrics it is quite straight forward job. If your not you may struggle to figure out some of it like the turret wiring.
Plus another thing to consider is the t34 use 8 aa batteries so that is 9.6 to 12v depending if use rechargeable batteries or not. The Heng long kit is meant to run at 7.2v but works with 8 rechargeable batteries (9.6v) but 12v might be pushing it. You could cut battery box out and use regular Heng long battery but you find the tank to run slower.
I've a spare controller left over from when I converted mine if your interested in sticking with the original electronics. Which sound better than Heng long but I couldn't get use to the controls even after six months.
Ian.

Hi Ian
I would be interested in the controller, the idea was to get this one running so my little lad could use it
Please PM me with the details
Regards Simon

Re: Heng long into WSN T34
It can be converted, I did one, and ran it on 7.2v the motors will function ok on that voltage. If you look at the battery pack I think I remember correctly that WSN ran a reduced power to some of the circuits by running a pair of wires out of the pack mid way down it.
Your best bet is to simply cut the entire WSN wiring loom out, and remove all the wiring from the turret including the led's.
Leave a black red on each motor.
Leave a black red on the turret rotation motor.
Leave a black red on the elevation motor.
Now you only have 5 pairs of wires to worry about.
You will need am HL wiring loom unfortunately as like Tankbear says the plugs are a different size.
If you aren't confident with a soldering iron, use screw block connectors to hook things up. Its actually a good idea to test the circuit prior to soldering using block connectors in case the polarity is wrong on any of the motors.
Connect one pair of wires from each motor to the HL red/black.
Connect one pair to the speaker.
All of the turret wiring goes onto the 8 pin HL plug, as per the diagram.
Make sure that you start at the correct end.
Once its all hooked up the tank should run just like an HL.
Oh...and if you don't fancy the challenge you would make a tidy profit on a WSN T34 on Ebay, you would never get one for £2 anywhere !! lol
Cheers

Re: Heng long into WSN T34
Hi
Many thanks for that, I will take Ian up on his offer for the controller, not to worried about getting used to the controls, cant be worse than Heng longs 1/24th Abrams? but this will come in handy if I ever decide to convert it. I mainly want it running for my little lad to use.
I picked up both the Tiger & T-34 for £2, sadly both of them were minus the controllers, the T-34 hardly looks used although a couple of the handles are missing & the single fuel tank on the left has vanished somewhere in my cupboard.
The tiger has a few bits missing but nothing that cant be scratch built!
This is what I love a bout this forum, everyone is helpful

Good God! 2 Pounds! Are you kiding me!!! Damn! I have 2 WSN T-34/85 that have/are in the process of being gutted and converted with full servo recoil and Clark board and I paid A LOT more for them! And I am still on the hunt for more because once I do these conversions they are an awesome little machine!
Happy for you though!
