Panther G at the Eastern Front 1945

It goes on with the side skirts. They are already cut out. Then I've drilled the parts and cut out the small rectangles with a jigsaw. I've brought these small rectangles with a fine file in the right form. Thereafter I directed each skirt plate and hung they only once for a test on my Panther.







All holes in the skirts are in good agreement with the hooks, so that it can go on with the fine adjustment.









Now missing only the retaining clips for the side skirts, I've made them from an thin strip sheet steel of an old stapler.



In contrast to the Original, where on each side only two clips were used, I have used four clips on each side, because I don't want to lose outdoor my skirts like the original Panther.





In the next report follow a few more views of the finished skirts...

A first test drive over an obstacle Course (a few wood strips) was a success; all skirts were left hanging on…

Hi Andy,

you're absolutely right, the Panther have often lost their side skirts, it's good to see on many photos.
And you've also right, the financial burden isn't not entirely without; it starting already with the purchase of the tank. Tanks from Tamiya are in Germany available from 500 € and you need also a radio control and so on...
Easy don't thinking about it!

But thank you for your nice comment, it will help me to make the financial burden a bit to forget...

Now that the side skirts are fully operational, it can go on. First, however, I will change a few things on the Panther because I don't like them - the openings in the area between the upper and lower hull and the rear end.
I'll start with the closing of the opening between the fixing of the rear plate and the side plate of the lower hull. I mean this here...



I decided to fill this opening with a construction from poly-plates on the rear wall of the Panther. I show you for better understanding a few photos.









So it looks after installing the rear plate...





Another major opening is located along each of the sides (for me so about 2.5 mm) and at the front end at the fold of the aluminum lower hull (here round 15 mm).
I closed this also with poly-plates...







I will continue next time with the completion of the upper hull (attachment of the debris guard grills, the hatches, the equipment parts and a lot of weld lines).

This is just insaine , in a good way offcoz Love the work on the side fenders. I would love to have some of those hangers for my JP build. I know many like them tanks 'naked', but I love the look of a few fender still on. Thanks for sharing
