But Caddy.
would you be so kind to give a brief tutorial to the dm unit+dx7 as I to have one for my trex500, and are getting into tanks again( probably getting the tamiya KT). Not having to get a cheap hobbyking, ore find a used dx5 would be great, thanks
Sure if you get realy stuck just pm me and we will run throught it all.As for a basic one for here now. Just wire it up like you have your heli. Then what ever channel to have your main gun hooked up to. (this bit is after you have taught the dmd your throws) go into servo travel and where is set with the dmd at 100%, set it to 150%.now the main gun will fire with just a quick stick up movment. No trims needed. That also works for the Mg as well.

QUESTION: In the videos I have seen ...folks need to start the Tamiya engine via hard wired switch under a hatch.

Can a Tamiya Tank engine start via the transmitter like the HL tanks?

No what happens is with my Tamiya KT for instance if you turn the transmitter on first then the tank it will start as like it is being cranked over by hand this is how they started them in winter to save the batteries in the tank if you do it the other way tank first then transmitter it will start like it is being started like you would your car so to speak , where is my Tamiya KV 1 starts the same way which ever way you turn it on. You know what I mean.\

On 2.4 to make the tank "Hot Fire" that is when the main on/off switch is on and Tx is off.. you will need one of these to interrupt the signal

you can get them most places for a lot less $$$ than in that link i have used. But you will know what you will be looking for now.

All the best
