One thing to be careful of with the smoke unit, don't overfill it! They need surprisingly little fluid to work, and if they get saturated through overfilling may never work again! 2 to 3 ml should be enough.

Good point. Also with use pipes sometimes get blocked with condensed oil, quick blow down them with a drinks stray and your clear.

Sorry to be a newbie thicko but the instruction manual has been translated into English by a schoolchild! (no offence meant to school kids!)

Does the smoke come out of both exhausts? Also how long does it take to heat up once switched on?

Should start coming out in wisps after a couple of minutes but like the other guys have said don't overfill it! I am generally not impressed by the smoke effect on Heng Long tanks as they are not linked to the throttle, I have 5 Heng Long tanks and after the initial novelty of seeing the smoke I usually turn the unit off!

The smoker are notoriously bad units,if they ever do work it is generally for a very short period before the damn thing burns out the very weak wire heating resistor.

Their are several topics on these units,how to upgrade them, modifications and opinions. I was involved with another member in this search for a better unit,and I can say he made one that works,and keeps on working.

The units were sold by Phil @ RCTANKWARS,they are much smaller not than the original units and seem to work very well.

Thanks, had a go but not much joy out of my bulldog...just a few wisps..

good news though, just bought a snow leopard! and that smokes great...(couldnt resist the battle temptation on christmas day@) )

Now I have another problem though, it seems both controllers are working from the same crystal frequency, I have had a look on some websites but slightly confused...

What crystal do I need to get? My Bulldog is 96/02 (on the paper hanging out of the controller)..

Really appeciate your help with this..
