Yet another new recuirt.......
Re: Yet another new recuirt.......
Andy, I am pretty sure that you can use a Tamiya turret on a HL hul lor even the other way round, I cant see any problems at all just some reworking of the hull and turret to get them to match and the same goes for the rotation gear use either tamiya or HL and make sure that the gears are meshing properly.

for plastic i use revell pro contact, metal to metal/metal to plastic i use cyno or epoxy glue if it must not come off at all costs, but only if your not going to have to remove it again,

hi & welcome, i still ask silly questions, but always get the answer your looking for, couldnt find a better more friendly bunch of tankers than on here! i have h/l pershing, wsn tiger & t34 (both converting to rx18 electrics) and a tamiya sherman and tamiya pershing, love them all in their own way, even my wsn tanks i like, weak as they are! but can convert in to nice tanks,
just look on here at what others have done.

Thanks for the info Stewart and Cliff, I think I will try a hybred approach to my planned Tiger. Part Heng Long , part Tamiya and mixed in with Asiatam. Thats the broad brushstroke plan - all the fun will be in the detail and sourcing the parts.
It always gets darkest before it goes completley black......

Hello Andy, Welcome to the forum!
The HL Vs. Tamiya debate will rage on for a long time. I started with an HL Tiger 1, it was an excellent way to learn, and get some experience, as you can rip it apart and mod it easily without worrying about the extreme cost. On the other hand, I got a Tamiya Tiger 1 and i'd never go back to HL. As has been said, the sounds and electronics are much better. The accuracy of the model is superior as well. The Tamiya Tiger 1 has the correct centre of rotation for the turret, also it has the offset gun, and asymetrical shape of the turret. I'm now on to my second turret, and would only get an HL if Tamiya didn't make it.
Never be afraid to ask silly questions, its how we all learn!
Cheers,
Rik
