King Tiger aerial tube placement

Post by John Glover »

Would any one have a photo of the brackets that held the aerial tube on a KT to the hull .Tamiya has this part glued to out side of the upper deck with no gap in between which is not correct. There was a gap and the brackets may have or may not have made the tube have a slight outwards offset away from the body like Ronnie 42 did in his KT build. Any help appreciated .Cheers

I googled Tiger11 images and after a bit of a search trying to find both a pukka WW2 picture as well as one which showed detail I found one and it is not really surprising that the spare aerial tube on the Tiger11 is mounted exactly the same as on the Tiger1 it is raised a few mm and is approx the same length the location on the right rear flank is also the same.
Does that help?
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thanks Jarndice. There are good photos of Tiger 131 aerial tube and mounting brackets but when it comes to a KT , I have found nothing for detail.. Trying to create some thing more correct with brass tube It would be nice to find a member who would not mind to take some photos if they were taking a visit to Bovington. Cheers.

:) Hello, attached is a link with lots of information about a KT (Kinetic Therapy). It's quite old, but still good; it might be helpful.
