2nd British Armor is a New Tongde Churchill
Good Afternoon,
Purse Strings eased up a bit here recently and I found a Good Deal in the US on a Toucan \ Tongde Churchill. With Spousal Approval ( No Whack with a frying pan ) the tank was on it's way to me, showing up this Afternoon along with some extras for recent new armor from Forgebear in a separate Shipment. This Churchill has the metal running gear option and came prepainted with a good job done there. This will be a separate Build and get more attention than the recent Crusader and Stuart M5 from Cool Bank. Tongde definitely has an Heng Long vibe to it. Learning to use this controller and getting used to a different type of tank will be a lot of the fun in using new British Armor!
regards,
Painless
P.S. interesting to note that the Churchill with the 'full' metal running gear is not even half as weighty as the similarly equipped King Tiger sitting next to it....

Re: 2nd British Armor is a New Tongde Churchill
Good Morning,
I am 'almost' done with the current old King Tiger with the 'Not Approved for Production but They did it anyway!' turret. After that, the new King Tiger awaits. That is a Matter of Detail Addition and Assembly, Disassembly and Painting of the Running Gear and an Ambush Paint scheme added to the current Paint. Less work than the first King Tiger and all the components are already here to hand. It will go quicker. After that, I will have some fun with the Churchill and do a proper Build Thread. Louis has a Stunning Example of an early Mark that will help a lot with Research. Thanks for looking in here, Gentlemen. Today, I will sit and trim and add the Tongde supplied Bits and run it a moment to make sure that everything works. I'll add Pics of that as I go.

Re: 2nd British Armor is a New Tongde Churchill
Good Evening!
Familiarized myself with the Tongde Churchill today. Controller does a lot and is similar to the latest HL controller but seems flimsier somehow. Does a lot of setting variations through button combos. I reset it so I was sure that I was using the Tank settings, not an 'Infantry Vehicle'. Got the minimum firing main gun recoil adjusted and startup and mechanical sounds including MGs to my liking and left it alone. Spent more time than anticipated getting the basic detail bits attached. Most needed glue and or the 'holes of attachment' drilled out a bit. This tank will benefit from some good details and figures when I sit down to do the Build on it. A Tip: I spent some time drilling out the part A5 MG barrel to give it a better appearence only to discover it does not transmit the light from the Besa MG. I found two HL - like MG barrels in the track links parts bag and used those. I'll have to find good working bbls for those MGs come Build time. I charged the battery since it showed up almost dead. The paperwork calls it a Lithium battery but does not distinguish between Li - Po, Fe or On. I charged it as a Li-Po and it is at 95 % and works fine. Anyone know what type of battery comes stock with Tongde? Battery casing does not say so as well. Back to the King Tiger tomorrow.
regards,
Painless
P.S. The Smoker worked great out of the box!

While I know my Conqueror is a rare tank finding aftermarket stuff for most Brit armor in 1/16 is difficult

All my TongDe AFVs came with Lithium Ion batteries. It can be tricky resetting a charger for LiIo.

Good Morning!
Thanks for looking in, Panzermechaniker! It will be a lot different than finding parts for Tigers I'll bet. Herr Dr., Thank you for that! I feel a lot better having that info to work with. I have a nice Balance capable Charger that charges all types including the older ones. I already have it set up for Li-ion batteries since I use those the most. I avoid use of Li-Po if possible and keep the few I do have, charged and safely stored. Have a Great Day Tanking, guys! and Thank you again!
