Re: Herr Doc's Various Questions
Ah, that is just the information I needed, Alan!
Thank you! The Vallejo paints are comparatively easy to find here in my part of the Ewe-Knighted States.

After trying the usual and varied primer colors I'm pretty sold on it after the Pz III results. Of course it will shine even better with a single colored base coat.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Wed Oct 15, 2025 8:34 pm I may well repaint the whole thing, using "black basing.")

I found that after weathering the FS34087 Olive Drab on my TongDe Chaffee, the shading created by the black basing disappeared. (viewtopic.php?t=37737&hilit=Chaffee&start=10).

Well thats lookin great.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Thu Oct 16, 2025 4:21 pm I found that after weathering the FS34087 Olive Drab on my TongDe Chaffee, the shading created by the black basing disappeared. (viewtopic.php?t=37737&hilit=Chaffee&start=10).
Ok, what I learned is to not use the basecoat much unless I wanted almost invisable shading. I ended up using just pure white for more contrast. Then I also thinned the basecoat to 80% thinner and 20%paint and used a .3 needle at around 8PSI. That being said this method only shows up on my PZ III more in the corners and shadows. The actual marbling effect is only evident if I stare at it knowing where it is. It's mostly covered with all the weathering effects. It would stand out more on a single colored tank like in that video with the guy painting the Sherman.

Re: Herr Doc's Various Questions
As if I didn't have enough going on simultaneously, I finally dove into the Torro Sturmtiger I bought some years ago. I upgraded it to the (now becoming obsolete) Taigen V3 MFU and sound, as I do like the sound. This was a Sturmtiger in Dunkelgrau with heavy heavy handed "chipping." I now have it to a base coat of Dunklgelb with some tools removed.
So, have you any suggestions for a specific tank to replicate? I do have a very few Sturmtiger books, but I thought your suggestions might be fun to consider.

Thank you, Jofaur86: I will be drooling over all those web sites a.s.a.p. Well, I might eat dinner first, if there is any food in this house of mine. ...food? ...when there are hobbies to feed?
