"For any other plastic or resin with a different colour, I would add a few extra steps first - prime it, cover with metallic-steel paint, and protect it with gloss acrylic varnish before applying chipping medium." Yes, indeed, these are typical steps for me with any (re)painting.

The inspector may well be pleased with the high-quality work. S/he is rather a beauty, too! Have you seen: viewtopic.php?t=31262&hilit=Pet ?

Art, do they sell "Holloway House Quick Shine Multi-Surface Floor Finish"? Supposedly that is a Future alternative. Another post said that “Pascoe’s Long Life Self Shining Floor Polish" might be an alternative to Future also.

It is well well-designed model, including how the parts are oriented for 3D printing to minimise lines visibility. Also, I'm printing with 0.1mm layers and ironing. It is slow but gives you good surface quality.
Yeah I bought this 3D model when it was released, it's very well done ! However I was not able to get good result but my FDM printer is very old and doesnt perform as good as the new ones. I had poor results so I decided to go another way when I'll get time to work on it !
I've seen FT17 first time in the museum in mid-eghties, when I was11-12 years old, and I became obsessed with it, even seeing it in my dreams. Unfortunately, there haven't been any models or much information about it. So it is an old dream come true :D.
If you're interested, I took a lot of pics of the one in the Saumur museum !

Your drive train and tracks look fantastic. I like your chipping effects very much !

No, I haven't seen this topic. Thank you for the link. I've got four and a half of them - four indoor cats and one stray who is scared to live indoors, all boys. The inspector is a British short-haired cat, the rest were rescued from a shelter or adopted stray cats.

PETG plastic will do the job too. There are a few clones of Bambulab printers on the market at a reliable price. Their entry-level printer, Bambu Lab A1 is around $350. Also, Bambuline is switching to a new generation of printers, so there should be good clearance prices for older models, which are still pretty good and reliable.

Yes, I'm definitely interested in any new information related to FT17 :)

Funny thing, I checked my stash in the garage and I have a 5L canister of 'Long Life Self Shining Floor Polish', but I never used it for modeling purposes. I thought about it a few years back, but it is milky-white compared to Future, so I didn't take a chance. I'll try it at some stage.
