TK-50S

Post by gabedrummin »

I am building a 1/16 scale Tiger 1 tank .Most of it is Mato metal parts a flysky Fs-i6s radio and and FS-IA10B RECIEVER . I bought a Clark 50s . I did bind the radio and reciever and that seemed to work as expected .The radio dose work in a flight simulator as a joy stick . I connected two drive motor's to the tk50s connected the s-bus cable to the recievr from the the tk50s connected a 7.4 battery to the clark board turned on the radio. It see's the reciever but will not drive the motor's . Checked all the cable with and Ohm meter . Checked that s-bus is connected with signal wire in the correct sopt both on the Clark and Reciever .Checked the motor they work with direct current from the battery. There is a jumper for where the swith connects . I wish there was an led on the Clark board to show you it is on . Where do I go from here ? Contact seller and ask for a replacment ? Send it back for testing .Thank you for your help .Thank you.

One of my questions is do I need to have power to the reciever when using s-bus ? With the s-bus cable connected to the tk50 .I apply power to the tk50 and the reciever lights up ? Thank you.

If the receiver lights up it does suggest its getting power
But i would try rebinding receiver to transmitter when connected up 1st
Might be better to wait on someone with more experience to help you further
Cheers

No, the RX gets power from the Clark board. The RX should light up and show connection to the radio when power is applied.

The Clark board has a neutral feature. If you don't pull the switch down to start the motors, it won't start the engine and move the tank. Since you have a Flysky FS-i6S radio and a FS-IA10B, have you configured all the channels on the radio? If all the channels the Clark uses aren't configured properly, the board won't start up because it won't get the right signal from the transmitter to do so. Use the guide below to configure the radio.

https://dakrctank.com/sbus-board-radio-config/

Once that is done, the switch that starts the tank is the 3rd toggle switch from the left. It's a 3-way switch. If you pull it down to the middle spot the engine should start. Connecting a speaker to the board will be of great help because it will tell you that the board is on and that the engine is running. Pulling it all the way down to the bottom should take it out of neutral. At that point, the tank should move. There are tons of videos on YouTube on the operation of the Clark boards, but also most of the instructions are on Clark's site. Once you get used to what switches do what, it's actually pretty easy. Did you also purchase the Sony remote to be able to program the card? You can't change any of the tunable parameters without the remote and an IR sensor/battlesystem connected.

buy one .
Can a clark TK 50s run 2x ESC's for left and right drive motors ? Run a Servo for gun recoil and a Servo for Gun elevation .

The TK50 doesn't support external ESCs that I know of. It can use a servo for both gun recoil and gun elevation. It wouldn't have any issues running that setup.

You shouldn’t need external speed controllers for that scale, you should be able to use the Clark board’s built in speed controllers.
