Speaker recommendations.

Post by Moogie »

I have just ordered a Heng long 7.1 radio with esc/sound unit. What size, watt, make ect., of speaker would you recommend for this unit?
Do you need an amp or is the sound good enough?
Thanks, Noel.

Indeed, your is a question that has come up frequently here on RCTW (and other lists). Using the search function on the upper right of every page, I came up with these among lots of hits:
viewtopic.php?p=347689&hilit=Visaton#p347689

Strange, i searched for speakers and couldn't find a definite answer, mustn't have been using the correct words to search.
Thanks for the links.

Besides the Visaton FRS7 and FRS7S, I have used these:

Dayton Audio PC68-8 2-1/2" Full-Range Poly Cone Driver
Dayton Audio
Part # 295-152
Model: PC68-8
https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Au ... quantity=1

The Daytons are deeper than the Visaton with a larger magnet so they won't fit in some tanks. I think they perform better in larger boxes.
