Hello there, zippy! I see that you already have some information from others. I am curious as to what RC tanks you already have. I have been at this for about twenty years, and I have a few moldy oldies among my ridiculously large accumulation. Well, no real mold...
Hi Herr Dr Professor,
Sorry for the delay in replying, but I've been locked out of the forum since my last post, until about 5 minutes ago. - No clue how/why... If anyone has an Email address for a Mod (in case it happens again) PM me.
I have 5 RC tanks, all modded. I have an "Old Skool" Tamiya King tiger, which I got 2nd hand . It's been customised, but is currently in bits, as it ate its gearbox. I'm aiming to sort it over the Winter.
I have a Heng Long first issue M26 Pershing, which is just about running, no mods but a bit of detailing/weathering.
A Heng Long Tiger I, first issue. that one was bought new, then customised to look like Tiger 131, - before it was famous & nearing completion. That one was made for my wife to run. It also needs major repairs, after it was run on a chipping driveway & picked up some stones, which got caught in the tracks & destroyed the road wheels. That one needs an internal upgrade _ a metal parts refit - especially the swing arms!
last of the oldies is the WSN (remember them?

) T34/85. That is a superb looking tank, - but was electrically very deficient! I Heng Long-ed that one immediately!

I see it has been re-release, under a different name now, with much better internals.
My latest tank is the Hl Challenger 2, in TK 7.0 flavour, with all the important metal upgrades. I'm going to run it a bit, then strip it for a realistic paint job & do my 360 rotation mod on it. I see they sell that as parts now!

There was no such thing back in 2005/6! At least I don't have to make it all myself this time.

If all goes well, I'll upgrade each tank in turn with modern HL parts...
Interesting side note...Dust is very difficult to remove, if your tank has been left on a high shelf for 10 years or more...!
