Next I can start with the brass brackets for the Schürzen.
Will make all 8, but I might just ad 2 on each side of the StuG.

Here is a pic from one of my other StuGs, next to the one I am rebuilding at the moment.
The yellow one has the rollers where HL thought they should be.
Did not make the effort back than to replace the rollers and take off the escape hatch, because it runs with Schürzen all the time.
But now, seeing them next to each other the difference is quite good to see, although we‘re talking about a few mm‘s!

Made a little progress with some brass parts.
Looks always quite easy when looking at the results, but it always is a lot of work.
Constantly measuring, bending, trying if it fits and this a couple of hundred times :haha:
Took me almost all day yesterday.

I know the feeling mate, and then the sticky-outy bits make the thing even harder to handle.

Indeed Herman.
Next step will be bending the hooks for the Schürzen to hang onto.
I already did saw the Schürzen out of 0,8mm aluminum. Not scale of course but I do not care about that.

Well done, Rob: your all-day effort is worth every minute, every "ouch" and every "*%$#^&*^%!!." If it can be of any help, perhaps you might consider a handy-dandy miniature table saw. Mine is a Novel LIfe brand, but there are others, too.

G‘day HdP.
Thanks for your input, but in fact I am a sort of an old skool guy.
I prefer sawing the parts by hand, accepting the risk it might not always be straight.
Besides that, I only have to saw that aluminum when I am building a StuG, Panzer III or IV with Schürzen.
As this is my 5th StuG and already have 3 Panzer IV with all the Schürzen too, I may say it should be enough.
My old skool effort may take a little longer to accomplish but in the end it gives me always that sattisfaction: Yes, I fixed it again!

After finishing my other StuG III and Hooben Elefant projects, it was time to proceed with the Winterketten StuG.
Decided to spray the lower hull in Dunkel Gelb and both sides of the inner roadwheels in oxide red.
