1/16 Schurzen armour.
Aside from Tamiya is there anyone else who markets 1/16 PZ4 Schurzen Armour ? Turret Armour alone would be fine I can make the side armour myself.
I know ABER do it in 1/35 why not in 1/16 is a mystery.
Tried Voyager, No joy,
Metal or plastic is fine,

Alarm over found the complete set on "ALI EXPRESS"
Turret and side armour £44,
Now a wait to see if I have a bargain or a disaster coming.

Re: 1/16 Schurzen armour.
No Sir I don't think it is,
Certainly "Tongde" is not mentioned in any part of the text. Just another obscure cardboard box from China with the Turret Armour and the track plate Armour and the respective fittings such as the long mounting bar for the side plates to fix on and the various attachments for the Schurzen turret armour to join it to the sides and back of the turret,
While it makes the job fiddlier the parts that make up the side plates and the schurzen are the proper individual parts,
Authentic but a pain in the nether regions assembling it.
It does look very like the Tamiya PZ4 Armour, Probably a rip off (I do hope so
) if it is that was a doddle to fit on another PZ4 (AusF H) now I can complete the range with an AusF J.

Re: 1/16 Schurzen armour.
Well, I do have that set too.
Normally I always make the side armour myself out of aluminum with brass brackets for my StuG's, Panzers 3 and 4, but got a bit lazy this time and decided to try that set.
And I must say, I was not disappointed at all.
Set comes complete with all the side armour, muzzle brake, spare tracks.
But the turret armour is quite thick I must say, but after painted it is not annoying at all, at least to me.
The brackets from the turret armour are quite fragile and tend to crack quickly so be carefull. I did replace several with homemade brass ones already.
The actual side armour is made of thin alu plates which can be hung onto brackets which must be glued up and underneath the fenders alongside the Panzer IV.
For now, this IV of mine is still in its Dark Yellow, waiting for the camo pattern.
So I cannot tell you whether the alu armour will stay onto its brackets during outdoor rides.
I can recommend this set to those who do not have the capeability to make 'm themselves, or do not have the time for homemade stuff which actually is a lot of work, measuring, fitting, measuring, sawing, filing and so on....
This set saves you quite some measuring and so, and it's actually just plug and play!
What I did do, I drilled holes in all the brackets (turret and side armour, except into the brackets which have to be glued underneath the fenders) and in the turret roof and upper hull also.
Glued small nails through the brackets into the turretroof and upperhull, just to get it a bit more secured than just glue.
I didn't regret buying this set at all!
Rob.

Re: 1/16 Schurzen armour.
BTW, Tankmodellbau in Germany sells the turret armour as a seperate set.
And I even think, RCtank.de and Licmas Tank in Germany had them on their websites too.
Sets are made out of poly.
