Hey !
I've received mine this morning and have been reading your thread with the utmost attention and decided to create an account to answer !
Good job on the controler ! That's quite a good idea, I'm thinking about simply crafting something in order to physically limit the joystick's amplitude.
I've been quite surprised to see you could use the VSTank tracks! Sadly there are none available in my area and the only ones I found required me to pay more than their price in shipping so that's a no go.
I wonder why no one ever thought of making some through 3D printing...
I'm wondering if there is a way to replace the main board. I already own a Forces of Valor T-34 and a VSTank KV-2 (with Clark's Electronics TK22) and this model's IR system is incompatible with them.
1/24 Taigen Tiger IR Battle Tank 2s lipo- IR compatible with Heng Long
Re: 1/24 Taigen Tiger IR Battle Tank 2s lipo- IR compatible with Heng Long
Certainly. This tank could be swapped to HL 1/24 pretty easy. Also any electronics would work. I can swap most anything electronic wise and probably have. Glad you are enjoying this thread and I was waiting for someone to ask for more info before posting more on this topic. These Taigen Tiger tanks are very well made. The electronics are OK but the tank itself is quite good. The MG with LED is quite awesome as is the main gun flash LED. CARE WILL BE NEEDED (CURRENT LIMIT) TO INTERFACE THESE LED'S to other circuit boards. I bought three just for the parts. The muzzle flash and MG LED's are the main feature as is the HD gearbox with 130 motors. Very robust gearbox. If this tank came with Vstank tracks, it would be awesome. The rubber tracks that come with it get too much traction.Tableuraz wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 12:14 am Hey !

Re: 1/24 Taigen Tiger IR Battle Tank 2s lipo- IR compatible with Heng Long
I watched the video and laughed so hard when you said "it does donuts"
I got mine for 100€ but it's the forest camo version, I wanted this one because it reminded me of the Tiger 1 of Vimoutiers on which I spent whole afternoons playing with my brother
The paint job is indeed amazing for something out of a factory. The worker got a bit heavy handed on the "brush" weathering but from afar it looks incredible.
The only real issue I have is that by default it's far too fast, even with the default rubber tracks it feels like an RC car with tracks. It's very fun to drive but not very realistic...
The fact I can't play with my T-34 and KV2 kinda bugs me out too... Which is why I'm thinking about replacing the internal electronics with a HL TK-71. If I understand correctly it has a slow run setting and can work with FOV and Clarks IR protocole...
I'm just unsure of the amount of work required though, most connecters seem to be the same judging from your diagram...

is the HL TK-71 a 1/16 radio setup? What system are in your tanks now? Yes this IR incompatibility issue is the bane of all battle tanks. I bet they would sell more if they all worked together. I am thinking of a translator circuit. I have a circuit now that can read any IR system and flash a precision LED that lets you see the individual pulses. It needs more work to break out the codes in a digital format and as I get time I will work o that. I will do a video of what I gave now asap.
Re: 1/24 Taigen Tiger IR Battle Tank 2s lipo- IR compatible with Heng Long
The Heng-Long TK-7.1 is this, it's the default PCB for current heng long tanks https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005003539668047.html
Right now the t-34/85 uses the stock FOV board which is great, with realistic speed, sounds and smooth driving. I don't know if it uses HL or Tamyia IR protocole though...
The KV-2 uses Clark's Electronics TK22 which is supposedly compatible with Tamyia and Heng Long IR protocoles.
For now the Tiger 1 uses the stock not-so-great electronics and I suppose it uses Taigen's IR protocole
I have an old 1/16 Panzer 3 that could benefit from an upgrade so I think I might get a TK-7.0/1 for the Tiger 1, and if I can't fit it in I'll just install it inside the Panzer 3
Re: 1/24 Taigen Tiger IR Battle Tank 2s lipo- IR compatible with Heng Long
I may get a 1/16 7.0 ver Panzer III for my collection sometime soon just to have and evaluate the radio system.Tableuraz wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 5:49 pmThe Heng-Long TK-7.1 is this, it's the default PCB for current heng long tanks https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005003539668047.html
