That is gorgeous, Kaczor! I think painting the farmhouse and farmyard will be most enjoyable. Please do show us the progress.

That's impressive! 500 hours and 16kg of filament--what's the penance for the first Tiger 1 that wangs it? Cuz you know it'll be some stoopid Tiger

Re: 3D printed Normandy farm
The fragile plastic of the Heng Long has no chance against the thick walls.

Re: 3D printed Normandy farm
The details of the model have been rescaled very nicely, haven't they? What layer height did you use?
I like it a lot, I think you've given me some ideas

Re: 3D printed Normandy farm
The models were glued and screwed together from the inside using metal plates. I decided that I wouldn't bother with filling and sanding, though. The divisions are almost invisible. And the print layers on the stones and wood aren't that noticeable. This week I finally got around to painting.
Only half of the prints are shown in the photo - the house is still being painted and the second farm building is currently being printed. I'll also add a wash to the roofs later.

I am not jealous, nor envious, nor even green with desire—no not one bit. O.K. I will just go off somewhere and cry, kick my feet, choke, scream…. I want! I want! I want!

Those look great. I've been contemplating a similar project, but with only one printer I think it would take a long time to print.Kaczor wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 3:29 pm The models were glued and screwed together from the inside using metal plates. Re: 3D printed Normandy farm
It's a matter of dividing the model into parts. Additionally, in this case, the length of the printout is affected by the detailed interior (which won't be visible anyway).
