Between the Thornycroft Mighty Antar and the Oshkosh Tank transporters came the Scammel Commander,
A Perkins V12 powered tractor unit,
I saw a prototype in the early 80s near Preston in a lay by "Imposing" It was mostly used not surprisingly in Germany but it did do good work in the Iraq wars.
It would make a nice build if you could get some drawings.
Last of the Bonneted British Army tank Transporters and probably the last of the original Watford factory Scammel designs.
To our American members it was a "Conventional" instead of the COE Oshkosh.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

The Scammel Commander would indeed make a very fine transporter for our 1/16 scale modern British tanks.

Anyone with any drawings or picture references to share (or even any info about any accurate small scale kits) would be very much appreciated.
Never too old to learn........
