So with Electronics pending leaning towards Elmod ... ive decided to strip the Jagdpanther once again this time the road wheels will get some attention in the form of red oxide primer.

funny thing about the red oxide primer... I really like it! I've gotten bummed a few times when ready to lay down the basecoat and thought man this looks pretty good why am I covering this up.

Ive finally got my hands on an airbrush so i want to start practicing on somthing i really dont want to ruin my Jagdpanther!

Okay, so ... I got my hands on an airbush, and one thing led to another. And this happened ....














This is my very first attempt and even holding an airbush, so this is more of a trial than anything. I may completely change it up, a lot of details like weld lines around the MG port and removal of the old aerial has yet to happen.

A friend who paints cars for a living was with me and his advice was to get some paint down to see if I'm happy with the colours, and I have to say I am!

As you can tell its eastern front Early 1945, with a few of my own departures from the original scetch above.

Questions to you guys... do i apply Lacquer before I apply any wash/weathering? I intend to use Matt Lacquer.

Terrific work for the first time with an air brush! Nice that you had a coach along. yes when I'm happy with my paint including shading if I use it, I do seal the paint before weathering. I tend to use enamels for the paint and water based for weathering so I can change it as I go. Then on occasion I'll reseal the whole thing. Others might have alternative methods...

Thanks, guys. going for a rushed out painted on field look, so I'm keeping parts of the lower hull in Primer, so I can get away with a bad paint job the paint colour I used is a Mr Hobby - Earth Green for the base, Tamya XF89 for the green stripes and XF55 for the off white stripes. I originally tried XF49 Khaki for the base, but it was far too American is colour, I'm still on the wall if I want to stripe my wheels or keep them one solid colour as yet
