So it begins, my very first RC Tank (Tankdestoyer)

I feel like a kid at Christmas massive thanks to Dave @forgebear for supplying everything you see here he goes the extra mile to help and throws in some extra goodies

Hopefully update my progress when things start coming together.

Any tips and tricks are always most welcome as i am new to this so if you see anything dont hesitate to set me right!

Looks like a great start, Christmas in July. I thought you were going to post this under the new Group Builds. If you decide to, edit your first post and access the title adding [Germany 45] and one of the mods will get it moved. Totally up to as this is also the correct spot and this time next year will be moved here anyway.

First suggestion. Charge up the batteries get them and the AA's in the tank and start running and check all the functions.

Yeah its came as basically a complete kit so everything needs built, i think im just going to give it a base of red oxide and build it for its 1st test run! Batteries are at the ready, ill also test the electronics before they go into the hull.

Ive decided on starting by "preping the deck"
(Lower hull) - getting the lovely red oxide treatment! I love it so much it would almost pain me to cover it with paint. Some sanding has also been done to attempt get rid of join lines on the Exhausts - might yet refil and sand again.

Side note ive never tacken notice of the panthers suspension arms before and realised they are swept on opposite directions. I always assumed they shared a torsion bar, insead they have individual bar + arm setup. Ill have to look furher into this! Its probably more common than i realise!

Three posts in one day its the last i promise!
Update: ive moved onto the world of the unknown - The upper hull, ive been looking at resources for how this should look, and came to the conclusion that the interlinked joints appear to have a much smaller tolerance than what my HL hull is depicting so ... ive went about putting very crude welds (1st time please be kind) using model cley putty.

The gun mantlet also got some love with my attempt to texture it like its real cast counterpart.



I then proceed to mask and give the upper hull my favourite Tamiya red oxide treatment.

I thought I was a blitz builder ( I built my Tamiya KV-2 in about 36 hours ). But you've picked a great tank in the Jagdpanther. I rebuilt my Tamiya earlier this year and I found some images of a frankenstein G1/G2 non zimmerit combo mutt from the Ostfront of unknown unit which I went with. Unlike a lot of JP modellers I'm not a fan of the G2 with the tools on the back but unfortunately all the manufacturers do the G2. I'm not much for doing weld seams but I am going to do it on the Jagdtiger but I'm going to go the solder wire route as I hate putty
