Thank you Herr Dr. Professor ! I finally went for a less weathered sherman, when checking my B&W pic again, I found it a bit too extrem.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 5:19 pm I think you have the correct vertical streaking for the Sherman's days and nights in dust and rain. Have courage; go a little bit at a time, and your M4A3E8 will look great.
Then, too, I do not know if you can use the "mule" but it would make a fine hull even for a stock HengLong Sherman.
So, I designed the recoil system.
I found a video of a M4A3E8 firing. Angle of view as ideal as it was a near perfect side view. I have been able to scale it to 1/16 to measure the recoil travel, which is around 15 mm. It was nice to notice the tank itself does not move at all when it fires (which was not the case with the 75mm guns).
Everything was going fine until I plugged and tested it... The servo was going the wrong way and I did not find any way to inverst the servo on the TK 6.1. I think it's impossible ! So I had to disassemble the recoil frame (well destroy it since everything was glued), and glue all the parts the opposite way to get a mirrored recoiol frame so the servo would turn the wrong way. In the end it works fine, I'll take a vid eventually. I chose to not use the metal barrel because it is not hollow and maybe I'll add a LED and smoke later.
