Then, too, I do not know if you can use the "mule" but it would make a fine hull even for a stock HengLong Sherman.
Thank you Herr Dr. Professor ! I finally went for a less weathered sherman, when checking my B&W pic again, I found it a bit too extrem.

So, I designed the recoil system.

I found a video of a M4A3E8 firing. Angle of view as ideal as it was a near perfect side view. I have been able to scale it to 1/16 to measure the recoil travel, which is around 15 mm. It was nice to notice the tank itself does not move at all when it fires (which was not the case with the 75mm guns).

Everything was going fine until I plugged and tested it... The servo was going the wrong way and I did not find any way to inverst the servo on the TK 6.1. I think it's impossible ! So I had to disassemble the recoil frame (well destroy it since everything was glued), and glue all the parts the opposite way to get a mirrored recoiol frame so the servo would turn the wrong way. In the end it works fine, I'll take a vid eventually. I chose to not use the metal barrel because it is not hollow and maybe I'll add a LED and smoke later.

Now some pics of the paintjob.

I still have to weather the tracks (they're in base color) and wheels, maybe the turret a tad more, the pionneer tools (and add their straps), maybe add some mud too ! And the periscopes and all the clear parts.
I'll see if I add stowage to it.

Tank's looking great. Love the mild weathering!

I'm slowly building up a Grizzly with the TK6.1 board and the Mato metal turret and yup, the recoil is reversed. Rather than rebuild the servo setup, I used a servo reversing unit from aliexpress. Plug and play and does the job!

Mike.

I am amazed by the ingenuity you RC AFV Masters demonstrate. (I liked the photos, too. The fellow pulling the "remote control" lanyard in the photo of the Sherman firing has the right idea to stay away. On the other hand, the big guy with no hearing protection must have his brains rattled out. :O )
