E-75 105mm (Tamiya/Elmod)

Hi all,

As a new member, here is my first build log,
Construction has been going on for several months but I will post my progress and photos in parts.

It started with a 2nd hand Tamiya King Tiger, which I wanted to convert to an E-75 with 105mm canon

First I modified the metal sprockets from Tamiya so that I could use the metal tracks from Taigen.

The front armor of the E-75 has a different angle, so using a 1/35 scale model I converted it to 1/16 scale and adjusted it with plastic card.

Once I was satisfied with the result after a lots of putty and sanding i made the flame cut marks en start with the welds.

I am glad you started a build thread and am impressed with your work.... BUT, "modified the Tamiya metal sprockets to fit Taigen tracks"...yes but how? Love your flame cuts, but I want to know how you made them. Most of us here like to steal each other's ideas, help a fellow crafter out...

Great work, keep it up. My brother mentioned the E-100 a few years ago, so far I haven't seen a build for it on the forum. Your E-75 will be a rare build here as well.

I do agree with Ecam: your work is superb, so it is fortunate for us that you have decided to present a "build" here on RCTW. Thank you! Eric is right, too, we do love stealing---unh---learning from others.

Hi Ecam,

The taigen metal tracks fit around the tamiya sprockets, but the sprockets are a little to wide for te tracks.
so I made one side of the sprocket a little thinner on a lathe.

as you can see i adjusted the bottom part of the sprockets on the lathe

now it is a perfect fit.

as for the flamcutmarks, I made this by scratching with the sharp point of a semi-circular knife.

I also did that where the welds should be, but much deeper

Time for another update

Here I modified the engine deck.

First I made the opening for the engine cover larger so that I can make a 3-part cover on it.

Then I adjusted the ventilation grilles.
At Ludwigs-Hobby-Shop I found grilles that I find more suitable for the E-75. These come in kit form and still need to be assembled.

The grills can be made to your own wishes, I chose 2 different types

The original grilles are then cut out and the new ones placed in.

The grills were very time consuming but I am satisfied with the result, on to the next update

Little update:
Painted the wheels and sprockets

Primed with Citadel black chaos and airbrushed with AK Real Color, later i will weather these.
