I believe the henglong merkava has the upper hull battery access to,I did consider that tank also but the leopard just looks better what with its angled front turret and winter camo.Ecam wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 11:16 am It was several years after starting to modify these tanks that I cared to fix the floor/battery compartment. Once I fixed my first with a quick/easy hull release the others followed soon after with hull reinforcement added as a bonus. I actually applaud the new battery access available on the new tanks (I don't have one yet).

I agree! All of the modern releases look impressive to me. I just (for 50years) have preferred to model WWII, so every tank I've worked on has been a WWII era rig (plus an early obsession with 48th airplanes and 35th armor - all from that war).I do have a weird fondness of "Cold War" stuff. My older brother (Sassgrunt) put me in the rear cab (late 60s) of the Atomic Annie rig near Washington D.C. (Yes I know the one that threw the atomic shell is in Oklahoma). And it is hard for me to dismiss the Terra Cruzer with a Mace missile as a super cool potential 16th scratch RC build (F86 Sabre too). But for me there is so much WWII stuff yet to build...
