Aurelius, your introduction is downright exciting! Here's a hardy welcome from Wisconsin. Just last October I was fortunate to visit Scotland and even Culloden (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Culloden), so I was edjumacated as to why your ancestors ended up here in the US and about the effects of culture retained overseas and brought back to Scotland. As to AI in 1/16 RC tanks: :O ! You are in the forefront, so it is going to be exciting to see what you accomplish. Please do continue showing photos and explanations as you have already at "viewtopic.php?t=35600."

My son and I were fortunate to stop at Culloden as well but only for a few hours. It was common knowledge in our family that we had primarily Scottish roots but my great aunt back in the 70s, 80s, and 90s became really interested in our ancestry and eventually wrote a book on the subject. Things get pretty spotty though before the Civil War, but she was able to eventually find records of our ancestors arrival in Virginia. Turns out, we are primarily the descendants of the MacLeod and MacKenzie clans. As to A.I, ... never tried an RC tank before, ... much less, an A.I. RC tank. We might fail spectacularly, ... but the wreckage should be enjoyable to watch :D
