Thanks, but I'm going to stay within the realms of what is achievable. That doesn't include weaving my own cables!

If anyone sticks their face close enough to make out the weave of your track hauling cables & complain, bang their head on it & ask if they need a Band-Aid !!!!!

Nor would I !!

Things like track cables and all the outer accoutrements would have been severely impacted by the strategic situation , I know the wide tracks were, certainly for King Tigers anyway if thats any indication of supply issues.

Evening all. Hope the weekend has been kind to you. Weather lousy today so the perfect opportunity to crack on with the Tiger build.

Based in advice from the community I've ditched both front hatches and bought metal Taigen replacements. They're detailed inside so look much better when open, and came with metal periscope. Thanks Welsh Dragon Models. They're now bonded in with CA glue and chemical metal epoxy compound. The glass is represented by clear plastic film from a food packet sprayed with Tamiya clear blue. Cut to size it's a decent

I've had a go at adding battle damage to the exhaust shields following advice about using a hairdryer. Unfortunately this shrunk and distorted the plastic too much so after a bit of a go at the left side where I managed to add a dent and bullet holes I got out the kitchen blowtorch which with careful use heated the plastic in a more localised way, allowing dents and holes to be made without distorting the whole piece. The same approach was used for the turret stowage bin. I'm reasonably happy with the result.

I spent the afternoon adding the colour camo and filling in the cutout on the zimmerit on the right side of the glacis plate. The photo I referenced wasn't Abt 101 334 I'm recreating, I misread the article so the battalion logo will go on the left painted on the zimmerit.

One thing that has become apparent is the upper deck is flexing a lot and stopping the turret rotating smoothly. I'm going to have to reinforce it underneath. Has anyone else had the same issue, and if ao how dis you solve it?

Ya but hey, jarndice, do you have a book source or URL on that little bit of towing cable trivia? I find it interesting. (O.K. I'm easily entertained.)
I enjoyed the tale of the hair dryer, cmryanuk, as I was thinking about trying it myself. I am forewarned.

Hi Doc, When I bought my first Heng Long Tiger1 I did what I do with all my Tanks, I ran it and checked all the systems worked then I stripped it down, Being a Heng Long Tank all the accessories were in the box or on sprues So I bought all the tools etc on line in metal including a Taigen/Torro metal hull and the Tank Track cable and I think that when I was working out how to fit it I discovered that particular piece of useless information but the actual source eludes me Maybe David Byrne or Alan Hanby they are my usual goto places for Tiger 1 information all I can say is that snippet of dross is out there somewhere.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hello,

the problem of the flexible upper hull is well known
in my construction report on page three I have photos, there I have reinforced these parts with brass o-
but you could also use other materials, for example poly.

with regards
