The fabrication and refining of parts is stunning. And then you make them move and function--Dang!!!

Tool box hinges/latches, pioneer tools and a couple tips/tricks. I find that often when removing tools for a repaint the plastic studs break off. I tend to drill out the tools and replace with longer metal studs (longer because the friction fit is usually all that is needed and the tools can be removed as needed). The little ones get sewing straight pins (they also make great rivets). When there is room the larger ones get soft copper wire. Needed some thinner aluminum, the walls on this can measures .07mm/.0025" but the bottom of the can is .38mm/.014". I use tin snips but a good pair of scissors can do the job as well.

Difficult to see, used the .243 casing in the drill for some friction cutting. Blister pack material.

Epoxy in the bottom to build up the reflector. Then some silver paint followed by the lens.

I just bought one of those punch tools used for leather working, the kind that looks like a pliers with a rotary head.

It could make small lenses. As always, I am awed by this build—but it gave me an idea to store away, too. Thank you!

I had one once as well before the oldest daughter "borrowed" all my leather tools. I don't remember the one I had having that large a cutter. This lens is almost a quarter inch. I should probably get another one, it is surprising how often I've used cartridge casings to make small discs (sixth build, off the top of my head).
