Challenger 2. Operation Telic.

Meter Rat: Skimming back over this build, I noticed two matters about which I could use information:
1) The long tarp over the front of the tank interests me as I eventually have to make one for the M26 (actually T26 because so early) Pershing.
2) Tamnavulin: hmm... Once the Oban my sweetheart brought back is gone...

Pray tell. What information exactly do you require?

1) The tarp is cut from an old dust sheet I found at work, cut so it covers the whole of the model. It was already a faded sand colour, I enhanced it with a little desert sand from Tamiya. On end was glued to a length of 2.5mm wire, from electric cable. It was simple to role it around the cable, and a few spots of PVA glue to hold it. Black thread was “borrowed” from wifies sewing box, and tied around it, and to various points on the model.
2) Tamnavulin is a Spayside Whisky and currently has three core whiskys. Red wine cask matured, Sherry cask edition, and American oak cask. The white wine cask in the picture I haven’t seen for a while. The river starts at Loch Spay, and provides watter for numerous distillerys. Why wait for the Oban bottle to be finished? You can never have too much whisky.

New gearboxes arrived today. Heng Long Ultimate. Forgot to take a before, during, so you will have to put up with an after. Apparently they will also improve my sex life.

Just wondering, given the gap of the motor to the side of the gearbox (aluminium?) is there a risk of shorting the motor connection ?

Top motor misses as the motor is above the the opposite gearbox. The angle of the photo makes it look close. The lower motor misses by a mm, but to be safe I put insulation tape on the gear box and the miter end cap.
