A few more details to re-make, and tow ropes to finish.

After failing miserably to use a servo for the gun elevation, I resorted to using the existing motor unit and extending the arm to give more elevation and depression.

I then started to make the shroud between the gun and turret. The local shop only had pink marigolds.

In a word, yes. I work on the KISS (keep it simple, stupid).The depression is probably a bit greater than in real life, A small price to pay.

Sometimes it’s the simple things you n life that bring the most joy !!
I used one of those to replace a Tamiya elevation unit that was feeble and allowed the barrel to flip around like an untrained seal.

Lower hull and wheels painted.

Wheels primed with etch primer and then black a top coat

With a bit of luck the main painting will be finished tomorrow. The lower hull can be reassembled. I will also need to practice using the stencils provided by Mr Rad of this parish.
As it is based on an actual tank, of which I only have one photo, it will not be 100% accurate.
But after two years, in which time we renovated a house the end is in sight.

That's the threaded part you attach the wheel with a screw to right. If you're gonna DIY fix it I want to watch how. Otherwise looks like you're gonna need a new one of those huh. That sucks sorry dude.

Depending on the length required, you might get away with something like a king tiger axle screw that can pick up the inside of the bearings and screw into the arm .
Wishful thinking perhaps, but as long as the wheel runs on an axle, it wont care if that axle is on the arm or from the outside fastening to the arm
