If there is a volume control it would look like this:

Hello, its sputtering, does it come when you turn the volume knob or constantly? you can spray WD40 on the potentiometer track,
it is a very effective product for electrical contacts

I feel that if it would have a volume adjustment it would be on the controller. But no, I do not see anything like that inside my tank. As for the WD40 trick, I might have to try that, but I don't want to further mess it up if it doesn't work.

Hello SG, it all depends on what mfu is fitted to your tank? The newer boards especially from heng long do indeed have the volume control on the transmitter/controller but older types do not. If you turn the tank on it's side and look underneath you may be able to see a volume control knob protruding out from inside the tank, it will be round and usually have a slot across the middle of it so you can place a screwdriver in to adjust the volume, if yours has one of these try adjusting it in small increments to see if the sound improves at all

Mato Tanks often came with a Clark tk22/24, if its not the volume pot at fault it could be the amp on the board,
I had one repaired recently at Clark for about a tenner.

After screwing around I really think it's the control/mother board. I'd like to replace that. Anyone got any recommendations?

You can send it in to get repaired? Huh. I'll try that. I have to figure out how to get it out of the tank without damaging it.Ludwig von wigbearer wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 7:12 pm Mato Tanks often came with a Clark tk22/24, if its not the volume pot at fault it could be the amp on the board,

Re: Speaker issue Hen Long/Mato Tanks
I noticed this same thing when i bought my Mato tank... the volume is controlled from the transmitter, not from a knob on the tank itself. That'd be fine if it were just analog sound, but the Clark board steps the volume down in 8 increments by removing 1 'bit' each time, so at the lowest amplitude setting you are playing a crappy 1-bit sound, instead of the original 8-bit quality! To change the volume on your Clark board with the FlySky radio, push the left shoulder wheel upward - I bet you unknowingly bumped the wheel a few times & now you're on a low volume setting. Needless to say I was disappointed that to have best sound quality I had to listen at top ear-splitting volume, so I added my own discrete volume knob; now my ears & wife are happy again... see my post "Why Add a Volume Knob to your Clark board? Here's Why!" on this subject here: viewtopic.php?p=362340#p362340
