Hi all
Newbie question again
I am getting close to finishing the painting of my Tiger 1 should the hull mg be silver or gun metal in colour?
I thought gun metal but in quite a few photos of member's models it is silver?
Sorry for troubling you all with such a basic question
Thanks for any forthcoming advice
Jim

gun metal
They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

Re: advice
Thanks for the advice I have a bottle of gun metal so I will go with that, as for the pencil trick I think I might try that with my next tiger!
Thanks again

Re: advice
gunmetal paint looks OK but its a bit one dimensional, as mcevoyi says black then the pencil method does look much better then on top of that a teeny dry-brush with pure silver to catch the high points ..............oz

Re: advice
just used the newish gunmetal from humbrol and it gives a good finish starts of black then you polish it with a dry cloth and it highlights it
Re: advice
Vallejo Panzer Aces kit No.5 has a paint colour they call track primer.
When you add the water you get a sort of muddy pink colour which changes over the space of a couple of hours to a nice base metal colour. Give it a black pinwash then rub over with pencil lead to add some highlights.
Cheers
