Useful accessories- miscellany
Re: Useful accessories- miscellany
I'll be interested to see the final result on the recoil. I'm going to do a King Tiger with an IBU, will that recoil unit work with an IBU2 Pro? I don't see any reason why not, it's the things I don't see that worry me! This will be a Porsche turret, and it's already IR but has the backwards HL recoil so that's got to go.

Oh yeah, if you need lubricant on the aluminum I might think about powdered graphite instead of any kind of liquid or gel.

Powdered graphite is what locksmiths use, Gary, and I bought some only recently for the front door (salt in the air, from the Sea-Loch, corrodes all ferrous stuff around here all too quickly...

Re: Useful accessories- miscellany
I think this is quite a useful explanation of the Tk V6.0 transmitter functions. What's more, the T34 really impresses- not only because of overall function proportionality- but because it fires BBs and has simultaneous barrel recoil. Now, I'm wondering whether
all current HL tanks sporting the V6.0 series controllers have (or should have) BB barrel recoil?
Maybe someone can expand on that. I know my V6.0 Panther doesn't.
Or, if it does- it's not at all obvious.

Re: Useful accessories- miscellany
Gary, of course, posted a video on the V6.0 controls a wee while ago with his customary enthusiasm and discernment. From this, though, it appears that the HL Jagpanther with V6.0 electronics, doesn't
have barrel recoil.
Must see if the Tiger has the recoil
I copied this feature description from an American website. It mentions Barrel recoil on the Tiger 1 with BB:
"....FEATURES:
Full Metal track material, sprocket, road and idler wheels (unpainted natural metal finish)
Double bearings and rubber capped tires on all road wheels
Latest Generation TK6 Multi-Function Control Board (MFCB)
Proportional acceleration, steering, turret traverse, and gun elevation/depression
Programmable radio settings for the amount of recoil, the sensitivity in turns, the overall sensitivity in acceleration, high speed and low-speed modes, etc
Smoke effect (On/Off)
Headlights and Brake lights (On/Off)
Volume (five settings including Off)
Four different sound sets. Each contains a unique engine start, idle, accelerating, traverse, elevate, machine gun, cannon firing, and shutdown sound
"Track Recoil" (Three settings from low, medium, and high) -This shudders the tank briefly rearward to simulate recoil when firing the main cannon
"Barrel Recoil" that physically retracts the barrel during the firing sequence
Fires a 6mm plastic BB (10 meters with minimal accuracy and limited velocity, but should still be treated with caution and with adequate eye protection)
Fires an invisible IR signal to be used as part of Heng Long's Infrared Battle System, which disables other tanks when hit five times during simulated combat. Up to 20 tanks at the same time can battle each other!
Independent suspension on all road wheels..."
If they can fit barre recoil to the T34 and Tiger, why not to the Panther?

Re: Useful accessories- miscellany
The JP does NOT have barrel recoil. I saw an M1 Abrams that had barrel recoil and smoke in an airsoft tank. I think the only problem is trying to get muzzle flash in there on a BB tank.

Yes, Gary, I mentioned that the JP doesn't have barrel recoil with BBs. The quest for a recoiling-barrel BB launcher goes back a few years to the Taigen Tiger mid-production model. At that time, it was the only system available- and I think we both gave it a try.Max-U52 wrote:The JP does NOT have barrel recoil. Now, I'm confused.

More to the point, how does the BB barrel recoil mechanism actually work? Is it based on Taigen's servo and pull rod mechanism?
Edit: The Leopard is supposed to have barrel recoil too, but my V6.0 model doesn't have it.

Is it so-called 'pro' editions only? If anyone has any pics of the recoil action, please post them here.

Here's a quick comparison of 'Pro' models:

I'm just wondering whether some older surplus stock items were upgraded with the latest MFU, but not a revised recoil mechanism.

Re: Useful accessories- miscellany
I should have said, "You're right, the JP does NOT have recoil". I was re-enforcing what you said about it not having recoil, I think the latest King Tiger may have the barrel recoil. Or it may have recoil, barrel smoke and muzzle flash. I've been waiting for someone to post a video. I also have a T-90 with 6.0 but it doesn't have recoil, smoke or flash. It's pretty much exactly the same as the JP. If it weren't for Kung-Flu I'd get a couple just to see for myself, but that damn virus has taken me from buying mode and dropped me all the way to selling mode.
But now I have an itch to play with the T-90. Maybe after the Tauchpanzer. That reminds me, I have to post that antenna video in tips and tricks. Stay tuned.
