Following on from my gearbox and gearbox mount repairs is my fix for the non working airsoft function ... this one was a bit more complicated

After checking all the wiring, the transmitter pot ( which was my initial suspect ) I stripped down the receiver to check for any problems in there, and found this...

Oh dear

Not much to go on, and after removing you can see when it burnt out it took a track with it

Time to work out what it is and get a replacement. Pins 5 and 6 are joined as are 7 and 8. Pins 1 and 3 go to ground and pins 2 and 4 have a 3k9 resistor. As I do a bit of electronics work for a living I worked out it's a dual N channel mosfet.... Cost 6p each from RS

1st repair missing track

Had to order 25 from RS but they still only came to £1.80 including next day delivery, arrived this morning and soldered in

Reassemble the receiver

And test
Very pleased with the repair, cost me under £2.00.

Not an easy repair, but was very satisfying to do .... now to shoot some stuff
