I tend to seal all my paint work with testers Matt varnish.

Oils can take longer to dry but then I always spray a very light mist of Dullcote. When that‘s completely dry I give it a second very light coat.

Here's a relevant video, perhaps- certainly an interesting one-on using oil paints with plastic models. The painter also uses Mister Super Clear varnish over the oils.
