Re: Panda Hobby Panzer 38(T)
It is starting to look a little different now.
I am currently working on what I think is the hull machine gunner's hatch. It is a bi-fold so it is quite interesting seeing whether I can get it to fold up and back properly. Watch this space!Richard

Re: Panda Hobby Panzer 38(T)
I have managed to cobble together the 2 halves of the bi-fold hatch. I wish I had just a small fraction of the ability in working with brass that I see elsewhere on this forum!
I now have the problem of deciding how to fit the hinges at the front. I know people here are very good at ferreting out photos and am wondering if anyone can track down photos showing this hatch in the open position or showing these hinges. So far, I have not had any success.Richard

A little more progress. The road wheels and suspension units are now assembled and ready to fit. I have not fitted the tyres yet as I want to get all the painting done first.
I have managed to get all the hinges on the loader's hatch. Sadly my skills do not even come close to the work done by the likes of Louis and Barry, to name but 2. If challenged, my answer is that it needed a field repair! It does fold up. I still have the tricky part of attaching the hinges to the main body of the tank.
At present they have a base of Vallejo Panzer Grey Primer. It is my understanding that single colour tank require modulation, so I have purchased a set of AK paints. I have to confess that I do not understand exactly what is required. An internet search reveals a miriad of results. I would appreciate it if anyone could recommend a good video.I have managed to get all the hinges on the loader's hatch. Re: Panda Hobby Panzer 38(T)
I have been chipping away at small detailing whilst summoning up the courage to have a go at colour modulating. I am well aware of my limited airbrush skills but have bitten the bullet. I have had a go at the various parts of the turret on the basis that there will be less to repaint if I get it wrong. Brick bats I can throw at myself, but if anyone has any constructive comments I shall be pleased to receive them. Please bear in mind that I really have no idea what I am doing. It is purely by god and by guesswork that I have produced the following.
