Order Upgrade speaker
Order Upgrade speaker
I want to order a new speaker https://www.rctank.de/LAUTSPRECHER
I have the Taigen V3 MFU but can it handle 4 or 8ohm ? Is the stock Taigen speaker 4 or 8ohms?
I opened the stock speakerbox on my tank but there is no writing on the speaker
this is the Taigen speaker I want to replace

You can actually measure the ohm value of your current speaker with a multimeter, have the speaker sat steady on a flat surface as per the pic above & measure the resistance between the two wires.

Thanks so much ! I was thinking last night of doing just that
Is this the right setting on my multimeter?
(I put my stock Taigen speaker in a cardboard box lol (also helps with bass))

That's where you're wrong Mr WardogWardog wrote: just going to jump in ,car speakers will take 8ohms because the sound out put or number is,in most is higher than an 8ohms hifi speaker.
The speaker is what has the ohm rating, it's the resistance in ohms of the speaker.
It's the amplification that can struggle if the speaker resistance is not suited to it.
Car speakers are normally rated at 4 ohms but usually measure slightly less.
Volume wise, with the same amplification a 4 ohm speaker will be louder than an 8 ohm speaker of the same size.

Yep, I can confirm. I once bought by mistake 16 ohm headphones for my walkman instead of 8, was like listening through cotton wool.
As for what components "take," speakers in this instance, they are given the available volts, they take what amps they want (or try too), and their resistance is down to their construction. Therefore, a 4 ohm speaker will try to draw more amps from its source than the 8 ohm, in this case the control board (m f u). If the control board can't handle the speakers demand something will burn out.
