Tamiya turret rotation motors

Hi Guys has anyone come across these motors not having enough power to turn the turret due to the clutch slipping .My pershing is really stuggling to turn the turret and its very free alot easyer to turn than a Heng long .

You could probably fit some small plastic wedges into the clutch mechanism to increase the spring tension enough to make it function properly. But still giving some slip when needed.

Hi Pete

I've glued the clutch gear solid on some of my Tamiya turret-turn units. You can also twist a bag-tie around the gear frame to stop it flexing.

Hi Guys Didnt have time to try it last night but tried it today and it works very well ,saved buying another one .Think I will put this on hints and tips should work on other tamiya clutches that have become weak .

I have glued up the rotation clutch in my pershing and also glued the elevation and slew clutches in the Jagdpanther

If you dont want to mess with the glue you can buy the Tamiya 6 speed gearbox it comes with 4 blue gears the same size as the slipper clutch item #72005
I think it sales for under $10.00 still .
