Pontiac had the best records of any car company, if you had the VIN# I'm sure you could trace it and see what happened to it.Ragnar wrote:Unfortunately not’ would love to attempt to at least look her up.... though if it remained in Minn. I’m sure weather rust and rot claimed her yrs ago.
Jelly molds! I like that and sooo very true, that was a time when you could tell the make model and year of a car at a glance, not anymore...they’re all basically identical today with slightly different grills and rearends. Just little Kleenex box’s on wheels so sad!Pak36 wrote:Ahh...the memories of vehicles past.
I was never a car guy...2 wheels for me. I think about hte bikes I owned and hte stupid money they fetch now, and it kind of makes me sad. Kind of....because I got to use them like they were meant to be used, not like an investment portfolio. Sad...because they are now too expensive to buy and use.
I mean...I paid £1500 for a Suzuki Katana 1100. Sold it ten years ago for £2500 ..... and now they go for £8000 in a mess and £12000 for a pristine example. My Guzzi Lemans cost me £2500 20 years back. £6000 now if you can find one.
I ran across the first bike I ever owned in a bike dealers a few years back. Red Kawasaki AR50 sports moped. I was 16, and it was the best thing in the world. I was sorely tempted to buy it to restore....but...you can never go back. The memories will always be better then the reality.
But...that does look like a neat car. Back in the days when US cars had a style all their own. Before all the world thought cars should look like jelly-moulds.
At my age now I believe in having as much comfort as I can possibly get. Early Hyundai’s had bad reps but I have to admit our Genesis is so far one sweet ride.Ragnar wrote:Married my wife in 1965’in a driving snow storm in Minn.
