I might do that but I'm always a bit wary of third party image hosting after the photobucket debacle. It would be much easier if I could just upload them here. I could last time I tried so not sure when it changed?

I don't know when something changed, if ever. All I know is that image hosting costs server bandwidth and free forums can't afford that kind of bandwidth, which is why third party hosting is the basic standard.

As for photobucket debacle, that's why I recommended Imgur, don't even need to have an account there to host pictures there.

Looking at your Pnz IV you did a pretty good job I would say! A brown wash would really make it pop.

I have a tri camo tank that looks a bit like the B man one. What product do you recommend for doing the wash? Any video out there showing the before and after?

I would guess the wash is up to your taste and the contrast you would like to achieve. For example MIG brown wash for dark yellow has a warm tinge. The amount of contrast depends on the thickness of the product, I would always thin it down. On my Tiger zim I was using a mix of said wash and the tan filter by mig. Better several applications than too much from the start. Enamel products are easily cleaned from the raised areas and it it is thus easy to get the preferred effect. But let dry completely before final decision.

Yes that is the filter I have as well. Applied on its own, it will give a subtle depth. You could accompany this with abtl 502 sand oil paint for the highlights.

Thanks gents. I have been playing around with washes on my sherman to try and bring some life to the solid olive drab paint and have been impressed with the results so far. I'm planning to go back to some of my earlier models and give them a touch up. I want to do re do the spare track links on the front as well to give it a bit more life.

This is the oil paint I use for highlights in dark yellow http://abteilung502.com/product/light-sand/
Sometimes in a blend with their ochre, that comes.close to the tan filter you referenced to by the way, although it is more vibrant. But you could use their industrial earth for some discoloration as it seems to have slightly green tinge in it.

But I have not found their proper brown for highlighting either RAL 8012 or 8017. If anybody knows, I would be happy if you could tell me.
