Can't you drill a couple of holes in the suction one and screw it down to your bench?
I have both vices, bought them way back before the internet existed, and obviously Lidl or Aldi. I was never that struck on them, hopefully the design has improved.
That sucker like any other sucker won't stick to a rough surface.
That being said, great little handy vices for a home workshop [/quote]

You could attach it to the bench with a couple of bolts if need be but I find it handy to have a second one that I can move about the bench for light jobs. The swivel on them comes in very useful.
I tested out the suction on a polished stone kitchen bench top when I first picked it up and it was okay but didn't stand up to too much pressure so I wouldn't rely on it even with a smooth surface. The clamp version is the way to go for a more robust vice.
