haha! I suppose 'tis the season. I figure maintaining the machines that defend the yard are certainly a fiscally responsible expenditure. Much more than lotion for "soft creamy hands that can't grip a tackle box." :haha:

Just back from work out West & J.H. Christ it was hoooooooot !

Had an issue with the turret the day before I left, that being the damn recoil/elevation unit would only cycle elevation non stop.
Changed the unit out for one I repaired earlier ! ;)
Now its spot on.

Also, used stick on mag wheel balance weights to ballast the turret as due to the lack of elevation box out of the back of the turret, its a bit front heavy with the nice barrel et-al.
Sits good now.

I'm relieved you managed to fix it! The wheel weights are a good idea too, 50 grams is a decent amount to balance out and wouldn't have been easy to do without the turret bin for leverage.

Thanks mate..........
I dont have scales, so taking the old H/L elevation motor in one hand and a section of weights in the other & trying to get a feel for balance between the two, had a guess at the weight required.
The barrel with muzzle brake and slightly forward mounted recoil/elevation unit really does add a lot of nose heavy 'list' to the turret, add leverage length to the barrel as well, and I ended up adding about 90 grams into the turret rear.

As for the elevation unit you sent me & I wrecked, all it took was fatter screws, cut off very short, and a dab of sikaflex into each hole as I went.
Got the hull bracing made today, used aluminium odd-leg angle that I got for my Jagdtiger conversion, its also going to help mount the speaker, but these wont be secured until the gearboxes have arrived & been fitted. The front brace will help out being a splash guard.

Im going to use a Taigen V2 smoker as its cheap & available here.
Tarr's of course are much better, but for the amount of smoke time I need, a good version 2 Taigen will do.
The late Tiger tracks have now come back into stock, so these will also be on the menu shortly.

Herman Hi, I love the way this build is going especially, the cheap and cheerful which of course is turning into no such thing :haha:
As to a set of scales I am assuming you are not a dealer in class 1 drugs so that rules that out but unless your lady only feeds you via the good offices of McDonalds then she surely cooks and that means Kitchen scales,
The Taigen PZ4 Metal Hull came with a V2 smoker which I took out because it had a Single outlet for the ready fitted Plastic exhaust rather than the twin outlet I needed for the Metal Exhaust I was going to fit,
So if your Tiger has the regular twin exhaust layout you might want to check that your V2 Smoker is also a Twin outlet. :eh:
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Yip, its got 2 outlet sockets, and I ran it out of the bag too..............a bit quieter, and loads more smoke than the usual versions.
