My Pantiger Ate All My BBs!!!

Post by Dubar »

Well, two of them anyway.

I took it apart to paint it and noticed a small bit of what appeared to be a rubber tube fell out, maybe 1/4" diameter and X 1/4" long. From what I gather it's part of the air soft "bucking". When I put it back together and tested it out the gun fired but nothing came out.

Where in the US can I get these and what exactly do I ask for?

Start with Imex/Taigentanks in Florida
Here's a catalogue link to the airsoft unit. Finding the feed system (your bit of rubber might be part of it, I guess) might be tricky.

Plenty of other sources out there.

I do wonder why people actually buy the Pantiger, lol.

To answer your query:

1) Newbie

2) Cost

3) Didn't do enough research

It doesn't look as hideous with a coat of dark yellow paint on it, but it still looks boxy compared too a real Panther 8O

The modern day camo scheme was begging for a makeover. Right now I have applied the dark yellow but need to find/get the green and red/brown.

I feel like I have one of those "spinner" toys they have out now, whenever I make a hard left/right turn with it :wtf:

There is a guy in our club who bought a Pantiger for the same reasons as many. I have to say that the paint job he did on it is amazing, and despite the authenticity of the model, if you look at it as just being a 'tank' it is a great piece of work.

I think it's fixed!!!

I took it apart when I got home, tried to find a photo of where the (rubber grommet, bucking, whatever we call it) went but found no good photos.

1st try I put it over the end of the plunger, put it back together, turned it on...nothing came out.

Then I looked at a regular airsoft image and it showed the bucking actually over the end of the barrel. It seemed too tight for that but I took it back apart and put the bucking over the barrel.

Put it back together (getting good at this and nothing to lose at this point :/ ), turned it on and fired...6 BBs came "screaming" out. Actually 3 came out good and the other 3 kinda rolled out the barrel. Maybe it needs a squirt of silicon???

Here's a photo of the "bucking":

I'm able to fire the gun now, but how many BBs come out is anyone's guess. I get 2-3, then none, then maybe 1 out of 4 shoots like it should. I need to search the forum to see if other's have had this problem.

Here's a photo of my work in progress "Pantiger":

Need to dirty it up a bunch, but I'm already dreaming about turning it into a Jagd-something :haha:

I thought I'd at least try to swap the roadwheels around so they would look more correct, but I haven't found a good way to do it yet as the outer wheels won't go behind the rear idler wheel. I suppose I could shim out the idler wheel, but I'd probably need a longer screw for that.

Oh...the dark yellow was from a gallon of latex house paint I had made up at the local hardware store years ago when I was building 1/6 tanks. The red is actually Boxcar Red from my model railroading as well as the green, Pullman Green that is. Maybe I'm just trying to make the "Pantiger" even more of a fantasy tank :/

Can only be a Jagdtiger - its too wide to be a Jagdpanther and too big to be a Jagdpanzer.

And stating the obvious, the hull should just bolt straight on.

Yeah, the width (and the front end, etc) 8O :O :wtf:

It was only $85 (he says in his best model railroad rivet counting voice) and if you squint real hard it does at least appear to look like a tank so...

It may become a gift to my grandson, he'll think it's cool.
