Re: Russian SU76M
It was quite easy to do the design, the good thing about Russian armour is that they had a simplistic approach to things, so flat panels, minimal detail, and function over form. Great for mass production, the SU76M was the second highest volume production behind the T34.
It could be made out of styrene, I am only 3D printing it as I am fortunate enough to have two printers. I may make the lower hull out of styrene sheet as it would be a lot quicker. 3D printing large parts has a high potential of a frustrating failed print and takes hours.
The M41 Gorilla was a complex beastie to do, so many detail parts to do.

Just checked the spare links, there are two decent pockets on the inside. I'll try and get some pics when I find the spare tracks.

Re: Russian SU76M
Printed off most of the small parts, though I haven't even started on the gun or the gun deck internals.
I also roughly printed one front corner to test the suspension linkage, and gearbox/sprocket alignment. There isn't enough room for HL boxes, so will have to look at those brass ones that seem to have a lower profile.
Springs are ordered, but before anyone points it out, I know that this type of suspension isn't what was on the original. It is just the easiest way to install springs that have no protrusions on the inside, if I did that then gearboxes would not be able to sit up against the inner hull wall. The spring holders will be pretty much out of sight behind the road wheels, shame they aren't bigger as if they were then they would be hidden completely.

Looking forward to this, you'll be doing the T60 & T70 next! Will the Forces of Valor 1:24 scale power units work? It's a fairly small vehicle so probably not too dissimilar in size?

Re: Russian SU76M
I reckon the Taigen low profile ones will fit, if I can get measurements from somewhere I can check before I buy them.
I printed the front valance and flat top to the upper hull, complete with all of the detail moulded in. Turned out very nicely, and it's quicker to print that way. No need to glue bits on, nothing can become loose and fall off, and everything is lined up perfectly.

Re: Russian SU76M
I am printing all of the parts designed so far, while I wait for the suspension springs to arrive, as I need to check where the mounts are on the lower hull, to get the correct tension.
Yes, the parts are turning out well, though I am always aware that they could be even better if I applied myself to some minor details on the configuration side of things.
The printer is positively ancient by current standards, but as it does the job, I am not complaining.

Re: Russian SU76M
One quick question. how tall are they at the shaft end of the plates, and the highest points. Mm's would be good.
