Hi Guys the easy way to slow the recoil going forward is to fit a resistor .Yhr has done this to the heng long recoil along with a mod to make it spring back ,I also have made the heng long recoil work in this fashion but a differant way .

The way to get around it:
1. For gear "A" and "B", use metal gears
2. Do many cycles of test to ensure gear "A" and "B" re-engage good before assembling the recoil unit into the tank.
3. Applied a good amount of grease, to prevent bad re-engagement.

Are you IMPACT as in 'THE' IMPACTUPGRADES manufacturer of those detailed, quality products? If you are...man, personally, I am so honored to have you write us. You can't imagine how glad I am.

When are you selling us those metal gears (A and B)? Are they made of steel or some zinc alloy or something? How about giving me/ us a sample... ::) With this mod reasonably priced right...I think would sell like hotcakes. The thing is sir...what would stop me or anyone here from making and maybe sell this too. But I seriously believe that if they are quite affordable then why bother making one when it is so much easier AND cheaper to buy one. Right?

Sir. I humbly request that you accept this apology of mine in advance....however, some of your products are unreasonably priced high. Please do not take this the wrong way, I am merely thinking aloud here. Also, is there a way you can produce just the hop-up parts without having to replace the entire Tamiya gearbox for that much desired gear reduction? That I think would be more affordable to us and probably will give a better return to you too.

Oh Chris you are so funny . ...I am getting there. White hairs are popping up here and there. Funny, I was at a Dunking Donuts a few days ago and the cashier told me..."Sir, you look young but your white hair betrays you. I think your old enough to be my father..." she probably thought I was hitting on her (I am just like that...seriously  ). I replied "there may be some snow on the roof but there is still fire in the oven". That's when I got the 'elbow' from my wife...lol.

BREL, sir...i was so inspired by the thread you started on your Tamiya Jagdpanther. You have not updated it for quite sometime. Also, did you already receive the King Tiger Muzzle break from StellaModels? How was it? I also ordered one from them when I read your thread.

Guys...is there a way to put the firing of the main gun in one of the channels (I have a 5 channel radio)...like just on a flick of a switch? It is so annoying having to push that trim lever all the way up. And I think (just like on my then 2 channel Sherman), I won't be able to fire the tank while moving. Is that the case?

BREL, sir...i was so inspired by the thread you started on your Tamiya Jagdpanther. You have not updated it for quite sometime. Also, did you already receive the King Tiger Muzzle break from StellaModels? How was it? I also ordered one from them when I read your thread.

My Jagdpanther is finished for the time being, I am waiting for Welshdragon Models to let me know when they have the Impact Gearboxes for it.
It has Impact track and drive sprockets, Fully ball raced road wheels and the IMPACT Panther G sprocket guides.
I am still waiting for the Muzzle break from Stellar models.

Hey great looking tank. On the recoil I did the same thing to all my tanks. I couldn't see paying $75+ for it. I like the nail to hold the spring. I wish all came with the tabs on the back. I made my own spring holder basically a copy of what comes with WeCoHe kits. I have been using them for about 6 months in battles and around the house and so far no stripped or damaged gears. I also my have cut a few more teeth and a heavier spring to get a snappier return, but all in all it gives it a much more realistic action.

week 3...

painting - road wheels

I used dark grey for contrast (for later washing technique) then followed by a 2nd coat of dark yellow. I then mixed dark yellow, brown, and sky grey with ratio 1:1:4 respectively. Mixed it then with distilled water 50:50 and OVER-sprayed really close. I gave me that 'stain' I was looking for.

Finally (which is not yet done)...I will wash all the road wheels with pigment of dark yellow under A LOT thinner. Hopefully the thinner will attack the base color (dark gray) just right to give that dirty worn-out look. Otherwise...I will do everything all over again...lol.

Notes: All colors used are Tamiya Flat Acrylic.
