Thanks for the pics Wooly, if I can find plenty of suitable ones and an up to date video, I'll update the website for the New Year. It currently gets around 100-200 hits a week, so at least people are looking at it, though many of these are going to be bots.

As for installing a Clark board in an Ark, the main problem is getting decent sound files for Giraffe's and the Duck Billed Platypus.

An interesting fact about the platypus, they are the only animal to lay eggs and produce milk, and are therefore also the only animal that can make it's own custard. You learn something new every day......

There won't be a meeting now till January. Keep your eye on the forum. Andy will post when he has the hut booked.

Guys, probably be Feb, just to make sure we have moved away from all the winter weather, but hey if it's a mild Jan, then why not !!

Let's see what happens, and what Andy can come up with?

The way things are going down my way it might be June! Decided to have the aircon recharged on the car, and asked them to look at the passenger side air vents that were only blowing cool air, the drivers side was fine. Bear in mind that this was a Volvo Main dealer.

Take the car in, come home, get a call. Aircon is recharged, but they can't fix the vents without taking the dashboard out. That is a £500 job 'just to look'.
The mechanic then says that updating the software might fix it as they are controlled electronically.
£80? Ok, seems like a cheaper option and worth a go.

They never called today to say the car was ready, so I called them. After wait the guy tells me that the car is ready.
Thirty minutes later I collect the car, they are all smiles etc.
Driving home, and the engine warms up....no heating at all. I drive 15 miles home and no matter what I do with the aircon, climate control and fans, no heat.

I ring them up and tell them, and the idiot on reception tells me that it is probably the fan motor. Nope I say, its blowing air, its cold.
He then tells me that the mechanic that worked on the car is out sick today?
He tells me that he will call me back. He then says that he has spoken to the head mechanic and that the problem is that the software update has identified a problem and that the dash will have to come out to fix it?
Hang on I say, the heating was working when I brought it in, its not working now. If your software update disabled the heating then its not my problem, I only asked you to tell me if the dash vents could be sorted out, and I was told that the software update might cure it, no one mentioned that there was a risk of any sort.

He then says that the Manager will ring me tomorrow, as she is sick today?

He then calls me back later and says that as a 'gesture of goodwill' they are prepared to split the labour charge to take the dash out...I would have to pay £216? He conveniently didn't mention that after they have done that I would be giving them a blank cheque to fix whatever they have blown.

So, I now have a worthless car, no heating, and unless I can get some sense out of the Manager tomorrow, will have to go through a whole lot of legal hassle to get them to rectify it. I wish I had just left the damned thing as it was, it was fine before. >:<

This has not been a good week!!!

Hmmm..........perhaps call them & ask a sales person if they can sell you a new Volvo.
Assuming yes, set up a test drive, discuss a trade...........then scream at the dealer principle once you tell the salesman to F-off that in gods worst nightmare you will not buy a car from them when the service dept cannot look after the one you have.
Tell sales how hard they work in this fiscal climate to sell a car only to have the worthless overpaid trade section not give a shit to keep a potential repeat buyer happy.

Trust me, turning sales against maintenance works a treat, and is well worth the hassle.
I usually reserve that for parts when they say "we dont have any in stock".
Me, Hi, Im after a Blah............new & ready to run.
Sales..........sure, we have one.
Me, Great, can you hold it for me.
Sales, sure, when will you be in.
Me, As soon as your %^$@#^%$^%$& parts dept can get the single thing I need of it, so YOU can restock the part whenever the hell you feel like it.....; :-< and sell the unit complete.
Get the part off, NOW
