In doing this I noticed that if channel 4 is not connected to the receiver you will have no movement from the tank at all. So maybe a bad jumper and its now been moved to channel 6?

When I left it last night all seemed to work except for the user sounds. Will investigate more this evening

Have You tried to calibrate rotating knobs for the 5. and 6. channels? You should rotate them and stop at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%...
